Almost Speechless

on

I catch myself almost speechless

But so distraught, I cannot be silent

The scripture dares us to ask-

“Who is our neighbor?”

While people who are different

Are condemned to murder

We want to silent the cries

Because just listening

Make us feel guilty, and non-action

Proclaims our indifference

Will we just turn our heads-

Bury our guilt

And cross by on the other side?
