It Starts With Me

Was watching the news, saw too much violence and not enough love—here’s part of my take on it-

Lives are shattered

Blood seems to be flowing everywhere

The stench of death stings our faces

While blame seems to be the goal of day

When will it end?

We dwell together in neighborhoods packed with strangers

But marvel still at the callousness of murderers

Selfishness and disrespect saturate our own hearts

However we say the crisis doesn’t belong to me

What is required for harmony to give birth

Is for us to confess our share

Restoration is possible

But it starts
